MUSCAT: The Omani Centre for Regulating Organ and Human Tissue Donation and Transplantation, in cooperation with experts from the Spanish Donation and Transplantation Institute, discussed ways to develop organ donation services in the Sultanate of Oman following brain death, as well as enhancing performance efficiency and the quality of health services.

The visit aimed to exchange international expertise, review applied practices and procedures, and develop and introduce key performance indicators to measure service quality and efficiency, alongside discussing challenges and development opportunities with specialists and healthcare personnel. It comes within the framework of joint cooperation aimed at unifying practices, improving performance and maximising the utilisation of donated organs, thereby contributing to the development of the organ donation and transplantation system in the Sultanate of Oman. — ONA
